We first met Cake Cult London in the months before the first lockdown in 2020 – even though we had no idea what was coming.
We were bowled over by owner/operator, Chanel, and her passion and love for her business. We worked with Cake Cult London to raise their profile ahead of their pop-up in Westfield Stratford.
Cake Cult London has taken a different approach to growing their customer base and we could see how we could help in letting more people know what they were missing out on. Rather than simply be another bakery, Cake Cult London is just that – it is a cult. It’s one that is very easy and simple to join. You simply need to tuck into their vegan bakes and spread the word on social media. The packaging is as delicious as the goodies tucked inside, with notes to tell consumers that ‘You Have Been Initiated’. When the vegan treats have been enjoyed, Cake Cult London encourages consumers to let the rest of the world now that they’ve been #Initiated.
New Take on Classic Cakes

Cake Cult London has a fresh new take on classics, such as heavenly croissants, cheeky Cherry Bakewells and elegant Viennese Whirls. Each and every cake and treat are freshly baked and Cake Cult also offer a bespoke occasion cake design service for a special birthday or a wedding.
What We Did
The pop-up launched in January 2020 and we developed a press release for Chanel that captured the essence of her business and positioned her vegan concept front and centre of all of our communications.
We developed a press release for Cake Cult London and worked on distribution to cover the key geographical areas of London. In addition, we also reached out to London foodies and vegan specialists.
It might seem hard to imagine only two short years later, but a vegan bakery launch was very much at the cutting edge of the food industry in 2020. The reception to vegan products and services has transformed over the last two years and is overwhelmingly positive. This is, in part, response to fabulous and talented producers, like Chanel, who are able to create outstanding produce that doesn’t suffer in taste or quality by being vegan.
As we emerged from lockdown in July 2021, we were delighted to catch up with Chanel and help her put a few more pieces of the jigsaw in place as she grows her business.
Now, in a permanent home in Hackney Bridge, we’re thrilled to stay in touch with Chanel and help her as and when she needs it.
Taste is everything…
… and we can verify that Cake Cult London’s cakes, buns, cookies and brownies are out-of-this-world tasty and off-the-scale good. With our very own Who Why How vegan, Chanel graciously sent us a box of the finest goodies that delighted both vegans and non-vegans alike. Totally plant-based, Cake Cult London’s produce uses vegan margarine and milk alternatives, like oat and coconut milk.
The day our box arrived was one of the best days of 2021 at Who Why How. We are #Initiated
